Disney-owned Lucasfilm has filed a legal protest over Empire’s “Strikes Bock” beer, which it said will “cause confusion” with the second movie in the original Star Wars trilogy, The Empire Strikes Back.
Empire Brewery, of Syracuse, New York, recently made a push to trademark the name, and sought to distribute the brand outside of its brew pub.
It remains to be seen if they will be allowed to retain the name of their on-site bar, Jar Jar Drinks.
